His aptitude for ki techniques is sufficiently enough for Tien to replicate the ki-based abilities of others, using them for himself)

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

The fighting power and life force of a martial artist, a tangible energy derived from the user's vigor, courage, and mind. It can be used in a number of ways, such as to surpass the limits of one's body to greatly increase in strength, and it can be fired as blasts of energy or used to create defensive barriers. The greatest student of the Crane School, Tien proved himself a skilled user of ki from an early age, excelling in his martial studies and in the use of ki, showing the ability to quickly replicate the ki-based abilities of others after seeing them in action.

  • Dodon Ray (ドドン Dodonpa?): The signature technique of the Crane School, a superheated beam of ki that Tien fires from a fingertip, piercing his opponent's body. It is apparently stronger than the Kamehameha and requires less time to charge.
  • Four Witches Technique: A technique utilized by the Three-Eyed Clan, which allows them to grow an extra pair of arms from their back, using these arms to increase the intensity of their attacks.
  • Kamehameha (かめはめ?) The signature technique of the Turtle School, which Tien copied from Yamcha after their fight. Charged and fired with both hands, it is a simple but powerful technique.
  • Kiai (気合きあ?): The ability to project an invisible burst of force with ki, which Tien can perform with his hands and even with a shout, a technique powerful enough to distort and reflect ki-based attacks.
  • Tri-Beam (功砲こうほう Kikōhō?): Also known as Chi-Kung-Pao, this is Tien Shinhan's ultimate attack, which he fires through a diamond-shaped opening made with his hands. Though it has immense power, each usage of the technique depletes Tien's ki substantially, and overusing it will leave him on the brink of death.
  • Multi-Form (身拳しんけん Shishinken?): Using this technique, Tien Shinhan can split himself into four duplicates, though each only has a fourth of the original's power. However, it is still quite useful and can be used for simultaneous barrages of powerful attacks.
  • Solar Flare (太陽拳たいようけん Taiyōken?): One of Tien Shinhan's signature techniques, which is executed by bringing his hands up to his face, creating a bright flash of light that can blind opponents.
  • Kaioken (界王拳かいおうけん Kaiōken?): A technique developed by King Kai and taught to Tien during his time training on his planet. It greatly increases Tein's ki for just a moment, boosting his strength and speed significantly for that time. However, this heavily strains his body with extended use.

  • Evil Containment Wave (ふう Mafūba?): The Evil Containment Wave is a mystic sealing technique designed to seal evil away by sucking them into a special container with a "demon seal" ofuda on it.

Tien's ultimate form gained after having his final potential unlocked by Old Kai's lengthy ritual. It vastly increases his power by opening his dormant strength. In this form, Tien is often known as Mystic Tien .
