The Storyteller

The Second Storyteller. The successor to the original, and the one given the unenviable task of keeping track of all reality.

The First Storyteller

The First Storyteller. Its sacrifice created all of reality.

After all, what is god if nothing except the author?
~ The Second Storyteller

An empty life need not be a meaningless one
~ The First Storyteller

Summary[]

The Storyteller is the chief entity of DeathBattleMatchups, ruling over the cosmology and overseeing the stories which take place within it (Hey, let me talk on my own damn page). However, this is The Second Storyteller.

The First Storyteller was the original, and it knew only loneliness for most of its time, until it realized that while it would be eternally lonely, it could still care about something in life, and created the cosmology of r/DeathBattleMatchups. However, this effort put too much strain on its mind, and eventually it chose to sacrifice itself by splitting its mind into uncountable aspects so its creation could live on.

The Second Storyteller was the most powerful aspect of The First Storyteller's mind, and took on the duty of overseeing the cosmology. However, it grew cold and distant from the aspects, beginning to see them as toys and puppets for it to have fun with. This turned into arrogance, transforming it from a distant overseer to a callous and bored manipulator.
