The North American Rattleback or Desert Rattleback is a species of rattleback (an armored rodent). It is native to the North American Desert of 5 Million AD. It is related to the South American Rattleback. It has tough and hairy scales which provide excellent insulation against the bitter desert winds.

The South American Rattleback or the Grassland Rattleback is a species of Rattleback (an armored rodent). It is native to the Amazon Prairie of 5 Million AD. It has armored plates of thick, stiff hair, this makes them durable creatures, able to withstand bushfires and attacks from Carakillers.
