The piranha plant is a common species of plant and recurring enemy in the Mario species. They mostly inhabit pipes as their homes but can be seen and encountered in the wild, along with being bred which is possible.
Their first appearance was in the game, Super Mario Bros. From then on, the piranha plant would be represented in the Mario series to the point as to be considered a staple enemy.
The piranha plant in smash is a specific piranha plant that is playable as free DLC (Downloadable Lockable Content) in the game, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, is preordered.
