Neil deGrasse Tyson is an American astrophysicist, cosmologist, author, and science communicator who grew up in The Bronx. Since 1996, he has been the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space in New York City. He is also the host of the show Cosmos, having looked up to the former host Carl Sagan earlier in life and wishing to carry on his legacy.
