Summary[]

Lucifer Morningstar is a fallen angel and a supporting character in Hazbin Hotel.

Prior to the creation of the Earth, Lucifer was an angel, said to be a dreamer with fantastical ideas for all creation, but the elders of Heaven saw him as a troublemaker who posed a threat to the order of their world. He watched as the angels began to expand the universe and the creation of Adam and Lilith. After Lilith left Adam, Lucifer met her in the Garden of Eden and the two fell in love with each other. Lucifer, with Lilith, wanting to share the power of free will, offered Adam's second wife, Eve, the Fruit of Knowledge, with this act evil made its way into the Earth which subsequently created Hell. As punishment, both Lucifer and Lilith were sent to Hell, where Lucifer could only see the cruel and the wicked that came from humanity. Ashamed, Lucifer lost his will to dream.

In Hell, Lucifer, now a fallen angel, became the ruler of all Hell on the basis of his angelic power, ruling over all the Demons that reside there. At an unknown point, Lucifer became part of an order of powerful demons called the Seven Deadly Sins, each member embodying a sin, with his being Pride. At another point, he married Lilith, and later fathered a daughter named Charlie Morningstar with his wife.

Roughly seven years before the events of the main series, Lilith left Lucifer for unknown reasons. This sent Lucifer into a deep depression over the loss, and isolated himself from his kingdom and daughter as a means to cope.

Powers and Abilities:

Attack Potency: At least Multi-Galaxy level, likely far higher, possibly Low Multiverse level (Each sin is the same as their own ring in power[1]. In control of all 7 rings, including the Gluttony Ring, which is spatially and temporally separate from the other rings of the Extradimensional Hell[2] which is stated to be its own realm of darkness and sin. Is the most powerful being in Hell, standing at the very top of it's hierarchy, so he should be far superior to Lilith, who could empower all of Demonkind with her voice. Far superior to Adam, who split the Hazbin Hotel and the accompanying cliff and could easily beat him down. As a fallen angel, he possesses angelic powers that trump over the power of Demons, including Vox who caused a power outage in Pentagram City, along with the infinitely powerful Grimoire[3]. Is one of Hell's few magic users, with only the most powerful demons being capable of using magic. Angels are stated to expand the universe. By bestowing the fruit of knowledge on Adam's bride, causing that act of disobedience to bring about the creation of Hell)

Range: Standard Melee Range, Intergalactic (Vivzie stated that he controls all galaxies in Hell and is the same as his own ring in power[5]), Universal (Comparable to Lilith, who's voice could traverse Hell), possibly Low Multiversal (Controls all 7 rings, including the Gluttony Ring, which is spatially and temporally separate from the other rings of the Extradimensional Hell[2] which is stated to be its own realm of darkness and sin)

Standard Equipment: A staff with an apple as a handle.

Intelligence: Gifted (Was called an ambitious dreamer with plans to change all of creation. Is a skilled craftsman who spends his time making rubber ducks with various gimmicks such as flipping backwards and spitting fire. Proficient in various instruments which he can play "phenomenally well")

Weaknesses: Is depressed due to his separation from his wife and his absence from his daughter's life. This combined with his prideful nature can make him easy to emotionally manipulate, like Alastor did.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Full Demon Form: Lucifer can enter his full demon form, in which he grows a pair of horns and six wings that allow him to fly around
  • Shapeshifting: Can quickly shapeshift into different animals like a snake, a horse and an octopus. He used these tranformations to beat down Adam.
  • Fire Manipulation: Can conjur fire as an attack, which he would have used to finish off Adam had it not been for Charlie's intervention. He also applied fire to his fists while beating down Adam.
