He was intelligent enough to prevent a war involving most of the world, but couldn't stop a teenager with the ability to write names in a book entitled the Death Note with the proper proof, leaving his true levels of intelligence in the dark. For the sake of this version of L, we will say that his hyperintelligence is dominant enough to solve cases that would take years for entire countries to solve by themselves with their own influence, implying that L must be intelligent and domineering enough in his stride to take down criminals around the world and prevent worldly crimes such as war and destruction.
