Summary[]
Gramfel is the main antagonist of the dark comedy cartoon strip of the same name. Unlike his reference Garfield, who is merely cynical and cruel on the oft occasion... Gramfel seems to be a genuinely mean spirited and sadistic creature. Gramfel is often shown to be a cats head contained within a little purple box. He has black or red snake-like eyes and two sharp fangs in his mouth, though his mouth is rarely shown or visible. Gramfel is heavily implied to be of Russian descent... He speaks in choppy sentences, subtly implying a Russian accent, and is seen reading Ivan Turgenev's Fathers and Sons in one comic. Gramfel at his very core is nihilism and sadism personified, he earnestly believes that life is meaningless in the face of death, and that existence itself is pointless... Because of this, Gramfel feels that he is justified in doing whatever heinous crimes he feels like doing at the time, and is never shown feeling remorse over any of the cruel things he does in the series. His one semi-redeeming quality is his "friendship" with Jon, but even this is shown to be hollow, as Gramfel seems to get off on torturing, killing, abusing, and mentally scarring Jon... Often breaking reality around him, or mutilating him in various ways. The cruelest thing he did to Jon was trap him within the dreamworld of Jan and Gram, a much more wholesome and happy world, only to forcefully wake Jon from this dream just to taunt Jon over his loneliness and depression. Overall, despite his cartoony and innocent appearance, Gramfel is one of the most evil and cruel versions of Garfield you can find...
