Joke Battles Wikia

Summary[]

Aang was a male Air Nomad and the Avatar during the century-long conflict known as the Hundred Year War. His immediate predecessor was Avatar Roku, and his immediate successor is Avatar Korra. As the Avatar of his time, he was the only person capable of using all four bending arts: airbending, waterbending, earthbending, and firebending. He was also one of a select few Avatars, and one of the first in many cycles to learn the ancient art of energybending, and the first Avatar known to have actively used the technique. Shortly before the beginning of the Hundred Year War, Aang was frozen in an iceberg for a hundred years; he later emerged, still biologically twelve years old, into a world engulfed by war. After defeating the Fire Lord and removing his bending, he formed Republic City. After fighting villainous bloodbenders such as Yakone and having married his childhood love interest, Katara and then having a family with her; eventually passing away at the age of one hundred and sixty-six (biologically 66 years old).

Powers and Stats[]

Tier: High 8-C, 8-B with Firebending During Sozin's Comet | 0

Name: Aang

Origin: Avatar: The Last Airbender

Gender: Male

Age: 112 (biologically 12) in Avatar: The Last Airbender, 113-114 (biologically 13-14) in The Promise trilogy, 114-115 (biologically 14-15) in The Search trilogy, 166 at death (biologically 66) | Inapplicable, Beyond the concept of time

Classification: Last Airbender, Avatar, Monk, Airbending instructor, Air Nomad culture teacher | Atman, Transcendental Entity

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Skilled Acrobat, Airbending (Can also breathe it), Flight, Waterbending (Any phase of water), Earthbending (Any phase of earth), Possibly Metalbending, Firebending, Lightning redirection, Healing, Energybending (Able to manipulate another person's life energy to impart them with knowledge instantly, remove one's bending completely, or restore one's bending), Astral Projection (Able to go to the Spirit World in this state), Divine Union (Able to unite with spirits such as Tui)

All Prior at a Higher level, Transduality (Type 4; The Avatar state is inherently connected to the almighty spirit Raava, a supreme being in the spirit world. Raava is inherently above the concepts of dualism, in the same vein as Atman, a concept beyond identification and description which is both dual and non-dual, with Atman being the true nature of the Avatar State. The Atman is a concept in Hindu theology which is the Supreme Self, a concept beyond identification involving all types of phenomena where the person becomes one with their Universal Self, with it transcending everything including things like duality. The Atman is transcendent over Tui and La who are the physical embodiments of Yin and Yang. The Mother of Faces is also said to have created the concept of differentiation within the world, having created both Taiji and Wuji), Nonexistent Physiology (Type 2; Free from all notions of existence and non-existence, for it is simply another binary encompassed by duality as both Taiji and Wuji are differentiation and non-differentiation), Acausality (Type 5; Notions of Cause and Effect are a result of binary and differentiation, which become irrelevant in the face of Atman given its transcendence over duality and dualism on a conceptual level), Resistance to Bloodbending

Attack Potency: Large Building level with Bending (Can partially block] Combustion Man's explosions. Can put a decent fight with Ozai, though he was losing before he got into the Avatar state). City Block level with Firebending During Sozin's Comet (His firebending is this strong) | Boundless (Within the Avatar state, Aang makes contact with his "Atman" and draws from the power of the spirit Raava. This power is beyond beings such as Tui and La who embody the duality of Yin and Yang, and the Mother of Faces who created the Taiji from Wuji. The Atman is completely beyond identification by definition with it also being dual and non-dual, making all notions of space-time, mathematics, dimensions such as the universe, multiverse and all forms of dimensionality above that completely irrelevant)

Speed: Massively Hypersonic reactions and combat speed (Should not be any slower compared to Zuko, who managed to catch a lightning bolt fired by Ozai) | Irrelevant (Mathematics and Space-Time are made irrelevant by Atman)

Lifting Strength: Unknown, Class M with Bending Moved a large "pillar" of rock with Earthbending) | Irrelevant (Mathematics is conceptually made irrelevant to Atman)

Striking Strength: Large Building Class with Bending, City Block Class with Firebending During Sozin's Comet | Boundless (Mathematics as a concept is irrelevant to Atman, and thus any form of definitions relating to numerical understanding are underneath Atman, which includes striking strength)

Durability: Large Building level with Earth Shields (Was able to tank hits from Ozai, though with some difficulty) | Boundless (Atman would make Aang immune to effectively everything due to it transcending dualism and non-dualism; with damage itself conceptually being a part of identification)

Stamina: High (Could train for several hours by repeatedly punching a tree despite already being severely sleep deprived) | Irrelevant due to Atman transcending everything including Mathematics; with Stamina being a byproduct of it.

Range: Standard melee range, Tens of meters with Bending | Irrelevant

Standard Equipment: Glider Staff and Appa (his air-bison)

Intelligence: Possesses a large knowledge in World History and cultures. He has learned the bending of each element very quickly. | Omniscient (With the Avatar state Aang reaches Atman and channels the power of Raava, maintaining an absolute state of oneness both dual and non-dual. This makes intelligence completely irrelevant, as he is one and different with all things distinctions between things vanish, granting Aang knowledge of all things in existence and nonexistence). In addition, Atman in Hindu and Buddhist theology also includes enlightenment itself, because according to the scholar Matsumoto Shiro, Atman is uncovering the awakening of all things, with enlightenment being a part of this awakening.

Weaknesses: Is a pacifist by nature, He refuses to take a life and is often overly forgiving unless friends' lives are endangered. While he greatly surpasses most benders, he still has some limits, he needs earth to earth bend and water to water bend. The solar eclipse disables his fire bending and the lunar eclipse disable his water bending. He has not fully learned to metal bend and must perform martial arts to bend the material. | None Notable

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Air Scooter: Aang can create and ride a ball of air with his air bending.
  • Water Whip: Aang can create water whips by water bending, and secluding his arms in water.
  • Seismic Sense: After being taught this by Toph, Aang is able to sense all movement on the ground allowing for a radar of sorts.
  • Earth Armor: This technique allows Aang to coat his entire body (excluding his eyes) in a layer of earthly armor, and can even do it with crystal.
  • Avatar State: Aang taps into the cycle of reincarnation, and gains the accumulated knowledge, skill and experience of countless previous lifetimes in addition to a dramatic increase in skill and knowledge it dramatically augments the power of his bending, allowing him to perform feats of power that would require multiple master level bender to replicate. However, if he's killed in this state, the cycle of reincarnation is permanently broken. This power also draws upon Raava and it's full potential, causes one to attain their "Atman" or "Ultimate Self" which is beyond all forms of identification both dual and non-dual.
  • Air Shield: In his Avatar state, he can conjure an omni-directional sphere of condensed air. This air shield protects him from melee attacks as well as elemental attacks. It also levitates Aang and allows him to fly at high speeds.
